Sometimes, I feel that what makes a trip truly memorable isn’t how many places you visit, but whether you have a moment when you can completely slow down. This time, I chose Wild Rose Holiday Park by Harrison Holidays. Before setting off, I simply thought of it as a regular holiday getaway. But once I arrived, I realised that it was quite different from what I had imagined a holiday park would be. It felt more like a little world where I could temporarily escape from everyday life and spend a few days at my own pace.
The Overall Setting: A Place That Truly Helped Me Slow Down
Wild Rose Holiday Park is located in Cumbria, and the natural surroundings were one of the first things I loved about the place. There was none of the noise and rush of the city, and I never felt the pressure to constantly move on to the next destination. Whenever I walked around the park, I naturally found myself slowing down and taking in the scenery.
Normally, I like to plan my travel itinerary in advance, with a schedule for each day. But this Harrison Holidays experience made me realise for the first time that a holiday doesn’t always need a packed plan. I could go for a walk in the morning, come back to the park and relax in the afternoon, or simply decide to do nothing at all. That sense of freedom was very precious to me. Instead of constantly ticking attractions off a list, I preferred sitting down, enjoying the view, having a cup of coffee and simply letting time pass.

Accommodation: Comfort Matters More Than Luxury
I’ve always felt that the comfort of your accommodation can have a big impact on the overall mood of a holiday. Harrison Holidays offers different types of accommodation, including caravans, lodges and some options with hot tubs. Personally, I really enjoy this kind of accommodation because it feels more like a home away from home.
What I loved most about staying here was the feeling that there was no need to rush. In the morning, I could take my time preparing breakfast before deciding what I wanted to do that day. After a full day out, I didn’t have to hurry off to the next activity. I could simply return to my accommodation and relax.
Great accommodation doesn’t necessarily have to be luxurious. What matters more is whether it gives me that feeling of being genuinely on holiday. Wild Rose gave me exactly that: a relaxed, comfortable and carefree experience.
Entertainment and Activities: Plenty to Do, but No Pressure
Before coming here, I did have one small concern: would I get bored if I spent most of my time at the holiday park? After experiencing it for myself, I realised there was absolutely no need to worry.
Wild Rose Holiday Park has heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gym, soft play, as well as a bar and restaurant. So even without planning a complicated itinerary, there was always something I could do.However, what I enjoyed most wasn’t trying to experience every single facility. It was having the freedom to choose.
When the weather was nice, I could go for a walk. When I wanted to relax, I could spend some time by the pool. And if I simply wanted a quiet day doing nothing, I never felt as though I was wasting my time. That is probably one of the things I liked most about Harrison Holidays — it gives you plenty of choices without making you feel that you have to do everything.
Food and Everyday: Enjoying Life Without Rushing
One of the things I really enjoy when travelling is taking my time over meals. Wild Rose Holiday Park has its own bar and restaurant, so I didn’t always have to travel far just to find somewhere to eat.
I liked spending the day exploring, coming back to the park to relax in the afternoon, and then finding somewhere comfortable to have dinner in the evening. There was no need to rush to the next attraction or constantly keep an eye on the time. Somehow, this simple daily routine made me feel especially relaxed. If I had to describe what Harrison Holidays gave me, I would say it allowed me to rediscover a very simple pace of life.
Coffee in the morning, exploring during the day, a nice meal in the evening, and then returning to my accommodation for a good rest.It may not sound particularly extraordinary, but those ordinary moments were exactly what made my holiday feel so comfortable and enjoyable.

The Appeal of Harrison Holidays
When it was time to leave Wild Rose Holiday Park, I suddenly realised that this trip had changed the way I thought about holiday parks.I used to believe that a trip had to involve visiting lots of places and seeing plenty of attractions for it to feel worthwhile. But Harrison Holidays made me realise that sometimes, a real holiday is simply about not having to rush from one place to another.
I loved the natural surroundings, and I also enjoyed having accommodation, activities and dining all brought together as part of one complete holiday experience.More importantly, I was able to plan each day at my own pace without feeling that I had to keep busy just to make the most of my trip.
So, if I’m looking for somewhere to temporarily escape from the busyness of everyday life next time, I think Harrison Holidays will still be on my list. For me, it’s more than just a holiday park. It’s a place that reminded me how to slow down, be present, and simply enjoy the moment.
